On Saturday 19th July, BOPH held a celebration event at the Knightswick Centre on Canvey Island from 10:30am to 3:30pm. 

It is a shopping centre where the group has had two charity shops for the last thirty years.

The volunteers set up tables in the middle of the centre with a tombola on it. There were also give away sweets for passers-by with requests for help for the charity.

Alongside all this was Joan Lythgoe, 96, co-founder, talking to anyone interested about her story and how BOPH came into being. Supporting her, there were several BOPH and Friends Voices volunteers who could also share both the hopes and inspire people to learn more or get involved. 

Across the whole day, nearly 300 people learned more about BOPH.
