The Llanelli and District League of Hospital Friends is a charitable organisation that purchases equipment and gifts for the Prince Philip Hospital and local clinics for the benefit of the patients. Founded in 1971, the charity relies on its dependable volunteers to raise funds for the hospital through donations, charity balls, and competing in sports events such as triathlons, aiming to make a sustainable long-term difference to patient care.
The funds are used to provide additional services, facilities and equipment for patients, visitors and staff, allowing the hospital to stretch patient care beyond NHS funding. For patients, staff and visitors at Prince Phillip, facilities and equipment have included care trolleys, televisions, Bariatric chairs, contributions towards green light laser for prostate ultrasound scanner, chair for patient movement in restricted places and pressure gel cushions.
The League of Friends has supported Prince Philip Hospital for over 50 years by providing funding for equipment that improves the services that the staff can give the patients to enhance their stay
The Llanelli and District League of Hospital Friends was founded on November 4th 1971

The Friends celebrate their 50 year anniversary with a presentation of Long Service Certificates, presented by Attend CEO, David Wood OBE.
